Listen to "Love Madness" on Spotify

Just a wee note to officially declare that the recording process for my new album "Love Madness" is to begin in two days time - circa 11am Monday, 6th November 2017.

Oh yeah, and I came back from Korea safe & sound about six months ago.

Glad we've had this chat.

Roll on rock 'n' roll x

And, instead I find myself back in Korea once more.

What can I say? I'm addicted to kimchi :)

Am typing from Busan, where I have been living for the last couple of months.

Ok, I know I haven't updated this for ages,

and people say that it's better to post little and often,

rather than one long, rambling entry once in a blue moon.

But, feck it, I'm feeling rebellious,

so one long, rambling entry it is!

I was recently invited by Wexford Women's Refuge to perform at a balloon launch

that they were organising to highlight the problem of violence against women.

I get the feeling I may have shared this before somewhere,

but, anyway, it wasn't this version

cos I just recorded this one

Although I suppose technically it should be "Bee's Wing",

but I'm not going to argue with Richard Thompson...

just found this, thought ye might like it

didn't know when it was from but then it occurred to me to check the file - circa August 2009

must've been reading the words cos i don't know them

She Moved Through The Fair

Hey, here's a video from the good old days of Woodstock, Seoul, South Korea -

sometime in January 2006...

I've just been home to vote in the marriage referendum and I wouldn't have missed it for the world...

So, I went to Belfast last week.

For the first time in my life.

It was good fun.

I had only been to Northern Ireland a handful of times before...

So, I was out busking on Grafton St. yesterday, and the nice people from buskertv came along and asked if I would like to be filmed for their youtube channel. I, of course, said 'yes' and here are the results...

Hey folks,

I’ve decided to make a real effort to update this blog on a weekly basis – no, seriously, stop laughing! I’ve chosen Monday evenings (between the two Coronation St. episodes) to make my contribution, although the second episode isn’t on tonight...

Well hello there, long time no talkie :)

Hope ye're all keeping well and happy,

I always find the change into autumn rather melancholy, but I kinda love it too,

crunching leaves and feeling the chill in the air, makes me a bit giddy!

Cos I miss The Hummingbird!! - my guitar has been in the guitar hospital for far too long now.

I'm starting to get a bit worried. I mean I am mainly concerned for Hummy's well-being

but I can't deny that I'm a tad concerned at the potential expense - I don't have guitar health insurance.

Hey folks

I nearly have a band. Now, I'm trying not to get too ahead of myself because so far we've only had one rehearsal....

the other day, as I was typing my last attempt at a blog entry,

'twas on TG4, who I was praising for their generally-very-good choice of programming,

when the feckin' computer just gave up, and I was just about to sign off & everything.

I made it! I am back in/on the Emerald Isle, drove all the way from Bristol!

(except for the ferry crossing, I figured I'd let the crew take care of that).

So, at the moment, I'm at my folks' place in Dunboyne, but I'm hoping to move into Dublin sooner rather than later.

And my plan is to stay in Ireland for the foreseeable future - basically, it's time to stop moving around and actually try to build up a following in one place, before eventually taking over the world :)

Well hello again,

It's true, I am alive & well, although you haven't heard from me for a while.

Unless you're checking out my twitterfeed - I think I'm finally starting to actually like tweeting.

As an "I don't know, what do you call it when you have two things vying for your attention"?

They're both music by the way, one is the solo route, the other is the ongoing quest for a band.

 Oh yeah, and a job.

And they said it couldn't be done! Or maybe it was just that I thought it couldn't be done :)

Either way, I have made it to Bristol in time for summer fun & festivals.

I have a new job, new house, new car, new phone & other assorted new things (like deodarant, friends and a big coffee-table book on Fleetwood Mac).

Ok well the news is that I've revamped my website!

That was a fairly half-hearted exclamation point if I do say so myself.

I'm a bit bitter if I'm honest - I was quite happy with my old site...

or the talent show,

which I didn't win.

I would have - if it hadn't been for those pesky kids.

Yes, I am bitter...

Yeah, so i'm supposed to be updating this 'news' at least once a week

but, as you can see, my last entry was in October - not good enough Conniffe!

anyways, you'd imagine with all the time that has lapsed, i might have something to say for myself,

we'll see...

So I've not checked in for a while, but here's what's been going on -

I finally gave up waiting for my P.A. system from Gear4music and, in fairness to them, they refunded my money straight away. So, I found a cheaper, second-hand one on Gumtree and it works fine so I'm a happy camper...

so the big news since I wrote to yiz last is that I've become an auntie!

hooray for baby girl Mia Caitríona Conniffe!

she's so tiny! but very cute :)

so the first two out of five open mics have gone quite well,

i'm fairly knackered though - i seem to be out of the habit of drinking every day,

which is probably a good thing...

So, at the moment, I'm trying to broaden my repertoire of Irish folk songs.

I'm tackling "The Lakes of Pontchartrain" (dunno who wrote it, no one seems to know)...

so I've been around the world and back again, well I'm back a while now really...
